Where can I park during the winter?
Please only park vehicles in approved parking stalls or garages. There is no parking on the county/city roads and alleyways from November 15 to April 15. There is limited parking in designated bump-outs along Silver Creek Drive and in front of the Village Green Park. Please be courteous and only utilize those areas as temporary parking (see rules and regulations). There are additional bump-outs that are designated for snow storage in the winter and are marked with signage. Vehicles found parked in violation will be towed.
IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ASSOCIATION'S GOVERNING DOCUMENTS, MOTOR VEHICLES MUST BE PARKED IN A GARAGE OR RESIDENTIAL DRIVEWAY.
MOTOR VEHICLES OWNED BY GUESTS OF AN OWNER, TENANT, OR OTHER RESIDENT MAY BE PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY ON A LOT.
What happens to the piles of snow in storage areas?
Due to the limited snow storage areas, the association has added “Snow Haul Away” to the budget for snow piles exceeding 5’ in height.
Will my driveway be shoveled?
During the winter, single-family homes that do not pay a secondary assessment (BSA) are responsible for clearing their personal driveways, walkways, and gutters. The county plows and maintains the county/city roads.
Do I live in a Benefited Service Area (BSA)?
Why is there still snow in my gutter?
Snowplows often leave some snow debris on the side of the roads and alleyways due to the blade angles, length of road/alleyway, and amount of snow accumulation being pushed. This is to be expected. PLEASE DO NOT SHOVEL SNOW INTO ALLEYWAY OR ROAD IF THE PLOW HAS ALREADY CLEARED SNOW. This is not allowed, creates a mess, forms ice, and will not be re-plowed.
Why is there ice in my alleyway?
Alleyways installed with concrete instead of asphalt are more costly and challenging to maintain in winter (asphalt alleyways can be pre-treated for snow, but concrete breaks down with continued treatments). Snow accumulation in concrete alleyways melts much slower than asphalt and requires ice melt instead of salt. Ice melt is much more expensive than salt, and more ice melt is required on cement because of the continued freezing.
Why do the condos have different snow operations?
The condos are part of a sub-association managed by a separate entity from the Master Association. Their snow operations are handled separately. Depending on their board’s direction, they may have higher assessments and a different level of approved services.
